Rear extension, Ashford

The Brief

The project involved a rear extension, aimed at creating additional and more practical living space. The primary goal was to replace an old lean-to to create a larger kitchen, enhancing functionality and better serving the client’s needs. This brief set the stage for a thoughtful design approach that would integrate seamlessly with the existing structure while meeting the client’s expectations.

The Solution

To achieve this, the design incorporated a roof lantern and french doors, which were key features in enhancing natural light and creating a bright, inviting atmosphere in the new kitchen. The demolition of the old lean-to allowed for a significant expansion of the kitchen area, providing more room for culinary activities and increase functionality. The choice of materials and design elements was carefully made to ensure a harmonious blend with the existing architecture, addressing both aesthetic and practical considerations.

The Result

The extension successfully transformed the space, offering several key benefits. The new kitchen provided a more practical and enjoyable environment for cooking and socialising, while the roof lantern and french doors significantly increased natural light and flow, creating a pleasant living environment. Overall, the modernised kitchen not only improved the property’s functionality and appearance but also added value to the home, enhancing the overall living experience for the client.
