Extensions & Renovations
Grow your home with you
At Early Birds, we create thoughtfully designed extensions and renovations that give our clients more from the homes they already love. Whether it’s opening up an existing layout, creating additional living space or completely reimagining a property, our focus is on making every new element feel considered, practical and naturally connected to the original home.
Every property presents different opportunities and challenges. Our experienced team takes the time to understand how our clients want to live in their home, carefully considering everything from structure and layout to natural light, materials and finishes. Where appropriate, we also retain and reuse original features, helping new spaces sit comfortably alongside the character of the existing property.
From kitchen extensions and open-plan family spaces to whole-house renovations and more complex structural alterations, we manage each project with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship. The result should never feel like something has simply been added on, it should feel like it was always meant to be part of the home.
Extensions
We take a joined-up approach to extensions, working closely with your architect, structural engineers, Building Control and other relevant professionals to help move the project smoothly from design into construction. Our team coordinates the practical requirements on site, helps manage inspections and ensures the work follows the agreed drawings and specifications. By keeping communication clear between everyone involved, we can identify potential challenges early, keep the project moving and make sure the finished extension delivers what was originally envisioned.
Renovations
A successful renovation is about more than simply updating a property, it’s an opportunity to rethink how the space looks, feels and works for you. We help our clients explore ideas and find inspiration throughout the process, drawing on our experience from previous projects while always keeping their own style and vision at the centre of the design.
Where additional expertise is required, we can work alongside trusted interior designers and specialist contractors to help develop everything from layouts and material choices to kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, finishes and bespoke features. By bringing the design and construction sides together, we can also make sure those ideas are practical to build and considered properly from the outset.
Updating inside & Out
Our work doesn’t have to stop at the walls of your property. We can also help renovate and transform the spaces around your home, creating gardens and landscaped areas that feel like a natural extension of the building itself.
From patios, terraces and pathways to retaining walls, garden structures, outdoor entertaining areas and wider landscaping, we can bring the same level of thought and craftsmanship to the outside of your property. Working with our trusted landscaping specialists where required, we can help create an outdoor space that complements both your home and the way you want to live.

5 Star Unparalleled Service
"It's been amazing working with Stu, Amy and Lee. Every person I've worked with has been an expert in what they do. I have high praise for every individual and the way you manage the company. Once we have saved up for our actual house renovation I'll be in touch again with Early Birds"
"We have been impressed with the builders, they have kept us informed about the work and helped us with decisions, i.e. layout of the bathrooms. They have come up with some great ideas along the way and have tried to give us exactly what we wanted. They have tried where possible to shield us from dust and to make it as safe as a building site can be for my children."
"Early Birds were reliable and responsible builders. They did the work on time and in budget after providing a comprehensive quote. We were kept updated throughout, of problems and progress. Solutions were offered and agreed on before work was carried out. They were hardworking and friendly, onsite 5 or 6 days a week for the main part of the build. They kept the site tidy and kept swearing to a minimum (and Stuart was really great with our young children.) We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Early Birds for any projects, large or small."
